Jewellery worth £10,000 stolen in West Wittering burglary

Thieves raided a family home in West Wittering and made off with jewellery '˜of great sentimental value' to the occupant.

Between Monday, July 4 and Thursday, July 14, the house in Cakeham Road was broken into through the garage and an internal door into the house.

Police said several pieces of jewellery to the value of £10,000 were stolen.

Other items taken included a pair of silver yacht cuff links, a gold necklace with a yacht pendant, a metal chain with a Union Jack and a pearl necklace with a set of Olympic rings as a pendant.

A gold coin in a blue jewellery box was stolen from the study and two cycles were also stolen, Sussex Police added.

Detective constable Emma Fields said; “We are seeking any information about the burglary or the whereabouts of the stolen property.

“The items are of great sentimental value to the victim, who would really like to be reunited with them.”
