Police patrols stepped up as cars targeted

A SERIES of thefts has caused Sussex Police to step up patrols in East Dean.

In two days, police received reports of a string of break ins from cars. All of the thefts took place between the morning of Friday, June 14, and 7.30am on Saturday, June 15.

Between midday on the Friday and 7.30am on Saturday, a silver Peugeot 207 parked in Droke Lane was broken into and a female jacket reported stolen. Sussex Police reference 575 of 15/06/13.

Between 11.30am Friday and 8.30am on the Saturday, a blue Ford Galaxy was broken into a petty change stolen. Reference 790 of 15/06/13.

Between 11pm on Friday and 5.30am on Saturday, a silver Suzuki wagon was broken into and a satellite navigation system stolen. This is currently being investigated by scene of crime officers. Reference 1161 of 15/06.

Between 7.30pm on Friday and midday on Saturday a vehicle was broken into and change and cigarettes were stolen. Reference 1109 of 16/06.

Between 5pm on Thursday, June 13, and 1pm on Saturday, June 15, a garage was broken into and a slate mantel clock was stolen.

The clock is dark grey, eight inches in diameter and sits on a 2ft 6in base. Reference 1203 of 15/06/13.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may know anything about the above thefts to get in touch by calling 101 and quoting the appropriate crime reference number given above.
