According to PCSO Cooper, there have been 13 overnight dwelling burglaries in the past week in the Emsworth and Havant area alone.

She added: “We recommend that you use Immobilise, a free secure national database to log all your valuable items.

“In the unfortunate incident of your property being stolen, it helps the police to trace property back to its rightful owners. I advise you to look at our website for crime prevention advice to keeping your property safe.”

Both homes and outbuildings such as summerhouses were targeted in the string of burglaries, and in most cases jewellery or handbags have been stolen.
