POLICE have bailed two people arrested in connection with a string of thefts from parked and unattended vehicles in Chichester.

Incidents have been reported in Oving Road, Kensington Road, Blackberry Lane and St James Road.

“Stolen items have included cash, clothing to electrical equipment. Some of the vehicles targeted were left unlocked with valuables visible inside,” said a spokesman from Sussex Police.

“Since the thefts, several items believed to be among those taken have been recovered following a search of a property in Chichester.”

He added officers hoped to return them to their rightful owners in due course.

On November 17 a man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of theft from motor vehicles and handling stolen goods.

Both have been bailed until December 14 while enquiries continue.
