POLICE want to speak to anyone who saw an orange Triumph Tiger motorbike in Selsey on Friday morning (May 9), in connection with an armed robbery.

Sussex Police said the motorbike was used by a robber, who stole £18,000 worth of cash from a bank security guard on Selsey high street.

The security guard was returning to his van from National Westminster Bank, when he was confronted by a man just after midday.

The suspect was wearing dark clothing and a black motorcycle crash helmet.

He threatened the security guard with a weapon (not a firearm) and forced him to hand over a bag containing several thousands of pounds in cash.

The robber than ran off in the direction of Croft Road. No one was hurt.

Police believe a motorbike which was found close to the scene was used by the suspect before the offence.

It was an orange Triump Tiger with the registration MX08 RXC.

Anyone who saw a motorbike of this description in Selsey on May 8, should contact Sussex Police on 101 with the reference 0609 of 9/5.
