Woodmancote murder probe: Pictures show detectives and forensics at house near Chichester after four people are found dead

A murder investigation is continuing today (Tuesday, March 31) after four dead bodies, all believed to be from the same family, were found by police at a home near Chichester.

Police said at about 6.45pm on Sunday, they received a report regarding concerns for the welfare of occupants at an address in Duffield Lane, Woodmancote. Two adults and two children and a dog were found inside the house and confirmed dead at the scene. Police said it is being treated as a murder investigation while evidence is gathered. Chief Superintendent Jerry Westerman said: “This is believed to be an isolated incident contained to one property and in these early stages of the investigation we are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident. Local residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as our enquiries continue. Specialist officers have been deployed to support the investigation and we’re urging anyone with any information to get in touch. Our thoughts are with the family at this incredibly difficult and challenging time.” Anyone with information about the incident can report it online or call 101, quoting Operation Cotton.
