CHICHESTER Festival Theatre is one of 15 successful applicants in the south-east region for Arts Council England Catalyst funding.
The CFT will receive £120,000 over three years to develop its donors.
Other successful recipients which will share in the £2.3 million award include Oxford Playhouse, Nuffield Theatre, Watermill Theatre, South East Dance and Brighton Dome and Festival Ltd.
The Catalyst Arts scheme aims to make arts organisations more sustainable, resilient and innovative by increasing their fundraising potential and attracting new money to invest in additional artistic work.
ACE has made awards to organisations that are ‘committed to making a step-change in their approach to fundraising by finding new ways of incentivising donors and encouraging longer-term relationships with donors’.
Lucy Brett, Chichester Festival Theatre’s head of development, said: “We are delighted that Chichester Festival Theatre has been chosen to receive £120,000 over three years through the Arts Council England Catalyst programme.
“We will spend the first 12 months on a research and development project exploring how to increase our donors through initiatives such as legacies and regular giving.
“We hope to attract a greater number of donors willing to make a long-term commitment to supporting the CFT. This on-going support will allow us to continue our investment in high-quality artistic activity, such as commissioning new work.”
