Development in Chichester gains national award

The Square, Eastgate, created Seaward Properties Ltd gained the accolade for The Best New Regeneration Project, at the Evening Standard New Homes Awards 2011 held at the Dorchester Hotel.

According to the judges, who were a panel of industry experts, the development ‘enhances the local area and contributes positively to the community’ and offers something completely different and bringing a new life to the city centre, said judges of the housing scheme built on the site of a former snooker hall.

The mixed-use scheme consists of 25 town houses with four and five bedrooms at Lower Walls Walk, and 41 apartments with one, two and three bedrooms. 22 of the apartments are for shared ownership sale and rent through Hyde Martlet Housing Association. In addition, the commercial space has been taken up by Brasserie Blanc, Cook and, shortly, Art for All.
