The charity has a Chichester Lunch Club, based at Chichester Boys Club, in Little London, and provides social events and activities for adults living with mental health problems, including dementia and mild cognitive impairment.

It has been running independently for only 18 months but the charity already has 43 members, who meet twice a week.

Theresa Taylor, project manager, said: “This donation will help to fund our new inspirational Thanks for the Memory music voice therapy session for all of our members to enjoy.

“The aim of the class is to stimulate and maintain a connection with those losing cognitive ability through song, sound and movement. It will be really uplifting for everyone involved and we can’t wait to get started.”

Galaxy Hot Chocolate is looking to help small community projects, groups and charities across the UK and Ireland by donating cash awards to support warm-hearted people and projects.

Michelle Frost, spokeswoman, said: “From our research, we know that across the UK and Ireland smaller charities and community groups are struggling to make ends meet despite the efforts of a huge number of warm-hearted volunteers.”
