The modernisation of a post office will see it open seven days a week, including Sundays, from next month.
East Wittering Post Office, located in the Souther Co-operative store in Kingfisher Parade, will close on Wednesday, February 3, to undergo the refurbishment.
When it reopens on Friday, February 12 it will have a new open plan layout and offer customers a range of new services
Gary Trodd, post office services manager at The Southern Co-operative, said: “The Southern Co-operative is very supportive of the changes as it’s seen as a positive move forward for customers by making the Post Office’s services more conveniently available whenever our store is open.”
Adrian Skinner, area manager, added: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.
“We are confident this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.
“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future. The investment marks a commitment to no more branch closures programme.”
The main counters will open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 6pm, Saturday: 8.30am to 5.30pm.
Selected Post Office products and services will also be available from the retail counter, when the main counters are closed:
Monday to Friday: 6 to 8.30am and 6 to 11pm, Saturday: 6 to 8.30am and 5.30pm to 11pm, Sunday: 10am to 4pm.
