A BROTHER and sister returned to Tangmere Primary School for the first time for nearly 40 years when a plaque was unveiled in their name.

Daniel Rowe and Rachel Neal were invited back to the school last Friday after their business, Jackson Rowe chartered quantity surveyors, donated some money to refurbish the infant playground.

Mr Rowe said: “I thought the new playground was wonderful. It was lovely seeing the school after all these years.

“I went there from 1965 to 1971 and the original school was predominantly an RAF school.

“It had a core building and then lots of huts. I still recognised parts of it.”

Mr Rowe gave the children a box of Smarties each because he used to receive a tube of Smarties on occasions when he was a pupil at the school.

One of the features of the new playground is a Buddy Bus Stop Bench, where children can wait for others to play with them.
