These balloons launched at St Richard’s Primary School helped raise enough money to buy a number of laptops to support youngsters with their learning.
More than £2,500 was raised from the sale of the balloons as part of a competition to see whose would go furthest, and a fete held at the school on the same day.
One of the balloons made it as far as Gillingham in Kent.
The money raised will buy a number of laptops, and a trolley to transport them, for key stage one pupils at the Cawley Road school.
Sonia Heywood, who helped organise the balloon event, said they were not expecting to raise as much money, as the fete had been moved to a Friday afternoon from a Sunday.
She said: “It is the second year we have done the balloons and the children loved it.”
