POLICE have released an efit of an intruder who was found in the bedroom of a Westergate home.
The householder returned to her house in Nyton Road at 2pm on Saturday (March 7) and heard a noise upstairs.
She went to investigate and found a man in the bedroom.
He ran past her, jumped out of the bathroom window and made off across the fields behind Barnetts Field and Victoria Gardens.
Officers attended and a dog unit tracked the suspect to Westergate Church, from where it is thought he may have driven off in a car.
The intruder had made an untidy search of three bedrooms and stole some Euros.
The suspect is described as white, aged between 30 and 40 , 6ft, of slim build and with short, dark hair.
He was wearing a dark coloured lightweight jacket and trousers.
Detective Constable Emma Fields said: “It is possible the suspect had a vehicle which may have been parked in a nearby road.
“If anyone saw a man matching the description in the area of Westergate who was acting suspiciously or leaving in a hurry between 1.30pm and 2pm on Saturday, March 7 please get in touch.”
