THE first of the peregrine eggs at Chichester Cathedral hatched today (Friday, May 3).
Early this afternoon, the egg began to hatch and, at around 3.35pm, the RSPB’s official peregrines account @ChiPeregines Tweeted: “First Chick has arrived.”
It has been an eventful year already for the famous family, with a new male appearing in April.
Fourteen years of partnership, with 42 successfully-raised chicks, ended when a new male was seen courting the female.
Updates on the nest can be found on the dedicated Chichester Peregrines Facebook page.
