New '˜temporary village' unveiled at Selsey Academy

Students at Selsey Academy will start their school year for the second time tomorrow when they reunite at their new home.

The ‘temporary village’ was unveiled today (October 31), where parents and pupils were able to look around at the new classrooms which have been constructed following the devastating fire in August.

Headteacher Tom Garfield expressed his ‘delight’ at being able to reunite the school once again.

He said: “The most important thing is the school community that we have worked so hard to retain.

“This is the 56th working day since the fire it has been a very short turn around – this amount of work would normally take five months.

“Everyone has worked tirelessly to get to this point.”

For year seven pupils, tomorrow will be their first school day at the grounds of Selsey Academy.
