VIDEO: Pumps brought in at Medmerry beach to clear floodwater

Specialist Environment Agency crews have been busy pumping out water from flooded areas on the Manhood Peninsula and into the sea.

Six additional high volume pumps were brought to Medmerry beach on Friday (June 15), where the current realignment coastal defence scheme is taking place.

Pumps were also deployed with specialist crews at the Bracklesham Bay Caravan and Boat site which was one of the worst-hit areas by the flooding last week.

Environment Agency teams have cleared out trash screens, closed flood gates, operated flood storage areas, removed debris from known hotspots.

An incident command centre was set up at Bracklesham Lane car park in Bracklesham to co-ordinate a wide scale operational response to flooding in the area.
