EMOTIONAL tributes have been paid to a popular gardener who ‘touched so many people’s lives’.

Rory Minns, 25, was known throughout his home village of Tangmere as a respected gardener with a true passion for horticulture.

He died when he was struck by a train at the Woodhorn Lane crossing in Oving on New Year’s Eve.

Rory was one of six children and family members this week paid their own tributes to him.

His mum Diane Houston said: “He touched so many people’s lives and lived in the village all his life so everyone in the area knew him. “We are all devastated.”

His sister Tacey Minns, 23, added: “He was always polite and outgoing and would take the time to stop and chat with anybody to give advice about their gardens. He just got on with everybody.”

Tributes for Rory have also been pouring into our Facebook page.

Extended tributes from Rory’s family and friends can be read in this week’s Chichester Observer.
