A Fernhurst man has died after being hit by a car on the A27 near Chichester yesterday evening (December 5).
The accident happened at 9.15pm on the westbound A27 dual carriageway between the Whyke and Stockbridge Road roundabouts.
He was in collision with a Mazda MX-5 saloon, driven by a 48-year-old Havant man. The pedestrian tragically died from his injuries at the scene.
The car driver was unhurt, and the road was closed until shortly before 2.30am while a full investigation began.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “We are appealing for witnesses to this collision to come forward, by calling 101 and quoting Operation Balmoral.”
This comes after another accident near the same spot on December 2, where a man died from his injuries after being hit by a vehicle.
