Firefighters rescued two people trapped in a vehicle following a road traffic collision near Goodwood in the early hours of this morning.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue has confirmed they received a call from the ambulance service at 1.44am after an incident between the Park Road and Kennel Hill junction near Goodwood Racecourse.

Two fire engines from Chichester attended the scene where one adult male and one adult female were trapped inside the people carrier.

Another adult male had already released himself from the vehicle before services arrived.

The two people were extracted from the car using small gear and all three adults were taken to hospital.

Firefighters left the scene at 2.36am.

Police were also in attendance.
