Today has been the first day of trading at the new location for Chichester’s Post Office after the controversial decision to move the service.
It was announced in August that the city’s Post Office would be relocated from its purpose-built building in West Street into WHSmith’s British Bookshop Sussex Stationers in North Street.
The news was met with uproar from residents, with councillor Nigel Galloway adding he was ‘disappointed’ that the Post Office had ‘ignored local opinion’.
The previous Post Office branch traded for the last time yesterday, October 4.
