Fishbourne campaigners gear up for public debate

THE ongoing campaign to keep the Emperor Way cycle path in Fishbourne open to cyclists and pedestrians is stepping up the pressure.

At the meeting of the parish council on Tuesday, October 16, a ten-point strategy for the campaign will be outlined and three days later the parish council task group will meet to implement each strategy.

The following week, a meeting has been arranged with a group of trustees from the Sussex Archaeological Society, the owners of the Fishbourne Roman Palace site.

The parish council task groups were formed following trustees saying that the path cannot stay in its present position, and are inviting new proposals.

An open meeting is being held on Thursday, October 25 at 7.30pm at the Fishbourne Centre, when residents and users of Emperor Way will hear the latest developments and consider how they would like to be involved. A petition will be available.
