Ford prison absconder hands himself in

A prisoner who absconded from Ford Prison has been arrested.

Stuart Wort, 45, was arrested on May 21 after handing himself in to a local police station in Southampton.

He had absconded from Ford Open Prison on May 19.

Wort appeared at West Hampshire Magistrates Court on May 23 and received an additional four weeks imprisonment for being unlawfully at large, Sussex Police said.

Twort had originally been sentenced to three years and eight months for burglary offences in Southampton. The additional sentence will be served once his time for the burglary offence has been completed.
