A NURSERY shed full of wooden pallets and shelving was destroyed by a fire last night (June 23).

Fire engines from Chichester, Selsey and Bognor Regis all headed to The Barnyard, on the A286 Birdham Road at 7.40pm last night.

The fire brigade said this morning it received numerous calls about the fire from the public.

The fire was out in the open to the rear of the nurseries.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the shed and its contents were ‘100 per cent damaged by fire’.

Fire crews managed to extinguish the flames and the last team left the scene nearly two hours later at 9.30pm.

The fire brigade was not able to confirm what started the fire.
