On Thursday, October 13, a new life-saving babygrow is set to go on sale at Tescos.
It is specially designed to help parents/guardians perform CPR on their baby if they stop breathing.
The babygrow is being launched by St John Ambulance, together with Tesco, after a survey showed it is the first aid emergency which is feared the most.
Elizabeth Harper, regional director, said: “Working with Tesco gives us a great opportunity to help spread the incredibly important lesson of baby CPR to millions of parents.
“We hope the worst will never happen but the babygrow, and our online video, shows parents what to do in a very clear and simple way.”
With a study showing only one in four mums and dads know what to do in this life or death situation, parents are being urged to pick up the free babygrow for three to six-month-olds in selected Tesco stores, with a suggested donation going to St John Ambulance.
Locally the babygrow will be available between 9.45am and 4.30pm at: Tesco Bognor Regis Superstore (Shripney Road), Tesco Chichester Extra (Fishbourne Road).
