GCSE results 2014: Bourne Community College

PUPILS at Bourne Community College were today celebrating some outstanding GCSE results as nerves gave way to relief for many.

Teenager Alex Modell was one of the top performers after achieving no fewer than nine A* grades and two A grades.

Alex, 16, said: “I am incredibly pleased with my GCSE results.”

“My sister and I are really happy with what we got.”

“I am going to South Downs College in September to study maths, Spanish and music. I still haven’t decided on my fourth subject.”

Twin sister Evie Modell, 16, got two A* grades, six A grades and two B grades.

“I am really happy with what I have achieved.

“My parents are really proud of both of us.”

Lumai Francisco, 16, was chuffed to get four A* grades, two A grades and two B grades and plans to go to college to study music, maths and physics at A-level.

He said: “I’m really happy with that, it’s much better than I expected, I really didn’t think I’d do that well.”

Holly Davey, 16, who got two A grades, four B grades and two C grades was similarly delighted. “I feel like I worked really hard for them and I did better than I thought so all in all I’m very pleased.

“I’m going to Havant College to study psychology, human biology and PE.”

Head teacher Simon Liley said this year’s results were just as good as last year’s, which were a record high for the Southbourne college.

Mr Liley said: “We’ve got a lot of happy kids because they’ve achieved the results they deserve so there’s been a lot of smiling faces.

“We got our best ever results last year and this time we’ve equalled that which we’re all thrilled about.”
