PLANS to build 30 homes at Wakeford’s Field, in Hambrook, have been put forward.
A planning application has been submitted to Chichester District Council by Kent-based firm Akehurst Epps.
The project mainly comprises of three bed semi-detached properties but includes one five-bedroom house.
Forty per cent of the development will be allocated to affordable housing.
According to the design and access statement, each house would be made from materials reflecting the ‘local Sussex vernacular’.
The entrance to the development would be off Broad Road.
The developer has included an orchard and community allotments in the proposal.
In response to the application, Chidham resident Keith Pittock said: “The loss of privacy would be considerable. There would be increased traffic noise from an already busy minor road.”
