THE Chichester HomeBirth Group celebrated its 25th anniversary with a conference at the Brookfield Hotel in Emsworth.
The event included presentations from several key speakers including independent midwife Anne Francis, Professor Cathy Warwick, who is the general secretary of the Royal College of Midwives, and author and antenatal teacher Gill Thorn.
The day also included discussion groups and networking time and finished with champagne and a celebration cake.
Group coordinator Jane Patten said it had been a ‘very successful day and really inspiring’.
She said the group, which is made up of midwives and mothers, was going to carry on with its Find Out About Home Birth events aimed at providing all the facts about giving birth at home.
It holds two events a year, one at St Richard’s Hospital and one at QA Hospital at Portsmouth.
