A ‘heartbroken’ mother is searching for her personally designed ring which she lost last week.
More than 1,500 people have shared the story of Joanne Smith, of Cleveland Road, who lost the ‘most precious thing she owns’ in Cineworld Chichester Last Wednesday.
“My daughter had designed and paid for a beautiful ring for my 50th birthday,” said Joanne.
“She was 18 at the time and it cost her about £500.
“I posted the picture of the ring on Facebook and it has been shared over 1500 times which is amazing community support. I have reported it to the police who tell me a lot of people don’t know there is a new crime called Theft by Finding.
“I hope that whoever has it, if they knew how heartbroken I am, and that it is a crime, they might hand it in anonymously or get in touch.”
Anyone who finds the ring should either hand it in to a police station or contact police on 101 quoting reference WCHL/15/01/0031.
