HYDE Martlet will be scrutinised by councillors in a bid to restore the faith of hundreds of people.
The housing association has come under fire in recent years, with numerous residents left in dire straits.
At a Chichester District Council meeting on Tuesday afternoon (January 20), councillors were told representatives from the housing association would appear before full council on March 10, as well as before the council’s overview and scrutiny committee.
Chichester south councillor Alan Chaplin led the calls for the housing association to appear.
“It’s not a case of accusing them,” he said.
“It’s looking to restore confidence and trust for literally hundreds of this authority’s residents.”
Council leader Heather Caird agreed with Cllr Chaplin.
“I think it’s extremely sad that the situation with Martlet’s has reached the level it has,” she said.
See this week’s Observer for special report on the discussion (February 5).
