STRONG winds are battering the area today (May 5) with an 80ft tree being blown over in Aldwick.
No one was hurt, however the tree hit two cars – a Volkwagen camper van and a Peugeot – which were unoccupied.
They were parked in a road named High Trees, in Aldwick.
Along with the tree, a lamppost also came down in the high winds at 11.13am.
Police attended the scene along with West Sussex highways. The road was closed while the tree was removed. It re-opened at 1.35pm.
