VISITORS to The Novium Museum in Chichester are being encouraged to snap a selfie with a Roman Soldier as part of international #MuseumWeek, which starts from today, Monday March 23.
The museum will be posting on Twitter using the hashtag #MuseumWeek and every day tweets will be based around a different theme.
The week is a chance for new and existing followers to go behind the scenes and find out more about The Novium Museum.
This Saturday, March 28, as the week draws to a close, there will be a special chance to meet, interact and take a picture with a Roman Soldier.
Visitors will be able to find him on the second floor of the museum, and there will also be hands-on history and craft activities.
The Novium Museum is just one of thousands of museums and galleries from 50 countries around the world who will be taking to Twitter.
The project aims to help connect people to art, culture, history and science in new and interactive ways.
Cathy Hakes, museum and tourist information centre manager, said: “#MuseumWeek is a fantastic opportunity to interact with our followers and give a real-time glimpse into the working of the museum.
“We are encouraging people to follow and engage with us on Twitter. Sunday’s theme is pose, and it would be great to see some selfies with our Roman Soldier shared on social media.”
#MuseumWeek runs until Sunday, March 29. Visitors can meet the Roman Soldier between 10am and 5pm, on Saturday, March 28.
Follow @TheNovium on Twitter for updates throughout the week.
