THERE is now just over two weeks left to sign our A&E SOS petition before the closing date at 1pm on Tuesday, December 2.
The number of signatures both in print and online for our campaign to safeguard accident and emergency currently tops 8,500, an amazing total.
But we desperately need more than 10,000 by Tuesday, December 2 so we can hand the petition in at a big health meeting on December 5, where the controversial decision to hand a £235m musculoskeletal contract to Bupa CSH Ltd will be discussed.
The findings of an independent assessment will be delivered at that health & adult social care committee (HASC) meeting and as well as handing in our petition beforehand, a mass protest is being staged by campaigners outside County Hall in Chichester.
So we are calling for one final push for signatures from our brilliant readers who have responded so well after The Observer announced the possible threat to the accident and emergency unit at St Richard’s and Worthing Hospital.
There are also many people who have collected signatures, and we also need them back by the closing date of December 2 so they can be added to the overall total.
