A COUPLE from Lavant have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Henry and Dorothy Luck married on April 6 but marked the milestone on April 11 by having lunch with their family at the Palm House Restaurant at Manor Nursery.
Their son Chris said: “It was a very memorable afternoon and even more so because both of the bridesmaids from the wedding were there, which is almost unheard of after 70 years.”
Mr and Mrs Luck relocated to the Chichester area in 1993 from Ashford, Kent, where they first met and married, to enjoy more peaceful surroundings and to be closer to Chris. Henry was a member of the RAF and later worked as an upholsterer and carpet fitter.
He is also a keen sportsman, who played football for his Air Force unit team and the Wye village team. He also played as a batsman for his ‘Old Boys’ school cricket team, and used to be a wicket-keeper.
