Chichester-based bespoke hat creator Leigh Johnson has created a collection inspired by the ladies of Goodwood Estate.

French aristocrat Louise de Karoualle is celebrated with a piece named ‘Duchess of Portsmouth,’ while the ‘Lady Emily’ hat takes its name from the lively and head-strong Lady Emily Lennox.

Leigh Johnson said: “It is a dream come true.

“I have been going to Goodwood since I was knee high and it is such a fantastic brand that I am thrilled to have been invited.

“I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.”

As preferred milliner, Laylaleigh will lend its skills to helping shape the image of the racecourse, leading the style and setting the trends for racegoers to follow.

Leigh explained: “Running up to the event my hats will be very visible all around Goodwood.

“I will be very emotional, but then I always am when I see people in my hats.”
