Chindi, the Chichester Independent Authors group, which includes authors from Littlehampon, Rustington and East Preston, is running the event online from Tuesday, June 21, to Sunday, June 26.

Carol Thomas, a Chindi romance writer, said: “Aimed at encouraging and supporting writers as well as getting the whole family reading over the summer holidays, Summer Reads is described as a celebration of all things Chindi.

“The group will be posting daily writing tips and advice on their Facebook and Twitter pages, taking part in live question and answer sessions and offering summer reads for the whole family at discounted prices in their online bookshop and on Amazon.”

Chindi members write in a variety of genres from romantic fiction to thrillers, fantasy novels, children’s books, biography and non-fiction. The group shares members’ experiences, knowledge and contacts to promote their work and encourage other budding authors to self publish.

Carol added: “We are very excited about this event. Whether you are planning a summer of writing, getting your mind or body in shape, entertaining the children or relaxing with a good story, we’ll have something for you.”
