Make a date for Arundel Fair Trade Fair

Arundel Castle will host a free event supporting fair trade and ethical trading on Sunday, November 25.

Everything at the fair, which runs from 10am until 4.30pm, is fairly traded or sustainable in some way and you will find many new stalls this year

These will include Fair Corp for fair trade and eco-friendly sportswear, trainers and fair trade footballs, Mia Bella Casa’s Christmas decorations and gifts for the home, and Refried Books specialising in second-hand rare and collectable cookery and gardening books.

There will be a great selection of fair trade products from many different countries, including Bolivia, Rwanda, Palestine and India. Alongside these are local craftspeople, including a project recycling wooden fencing into bird boxes and insect hotels.

A spokesman for the event said: “With Christmas fast approaching now, it’s never too early to think about presents and the Fair trade and Ethical Fair is the perfect way to get a head start, buying items with a clear conscience.

“We might believe we are still in difficult economic times ourselves, but there are many communities across the world with far greater challenges. The international Fair Trade movement aims to help people in the developing world maintain a decent livelihood through fairer trade – simple as that!

Coffee, chocolate, bananas, great... but there is so much more on offer. So come along to Arundel’s Fair trade and Ethical Christmas Fair and see what inspires you.”
