South Street in Chichester will be closed tonight (December 16) to rectify a large dip in the recently-laid paving stones.
Street scene improvements to reinstate the red bricks in the city centre took place from September to mid-November.
The work will be carried out by West Sussex County Council and SGN.
A spokesperson from West Sussex County Council said: “The intention is for all work to be completed tonight.
“However if time is running out to reinstate the block paving the proposal is to put a temporary surface down and come back after the Christmas period to carry out the permanent reinstatement with block paving.”
A road closure order will be in place overnight from 11.30pm and the work will be finished by Saturday morning.
