Motorcyclist injured in crash at Cocking

A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to hospital after losing control of his bike and crashing into a wall on the A286 at Cocking Hill yesterday afternoon (May 25).

The emergency services were called to the scene outside Cocking Post Office was before 3pm.

The rider aged 26, from Rickmansworth in Hertfordshire suffered serious leg and rib injuries and was airlifted to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment.

The motorcycle, a blue Yamaha R1, was seriously damaged in the incident, close to the junction of Mill Lane.

Police would like to hear from any witnesses to the collision or who may have seen the motorbike being ridden in the company of two others in the area in the time leading up to it.
