A POPULAR store is bidding farewell to Chichester city centre as it moves to Havant.
Dress boutique shop Mousetrap, in North Street, opens its new store today (January 31).
“We’ve been in Chichester for 42 years so for us it’s a massive thing to move out of the area,” said owner Lisa Farley.
“So many people have been upset we’re leaving. We’re part of the fixture and fittings in Chichester city centre.
“It’s a shame but you have to move on and we’ve not got enough room in this store to push around a push chair or a wheel chair. We need to have more space on the shop floor.”
The new Havant store will be next to Waitrose and Lisa hopes their loyal customers will come to see them.
“We had to stay as close as we could (to Chichester),” she said. “We’ve got a good reputation and we want to take that with us.”
The store’s five members of staff are all set to make the move over to the new store.
Lisa has owned the shop for 17 years, before that Kathy Bailey owned it for 25 years.
