Pret A Manger has confirmed it is opening in Chichester.

Plans have been submitted to Chichester District Council to convert the former Viyella and CC shop in East Street.

A spokesperson from Pret confirmed the move and said that details on jobs would be released in the next couple of weeks.

As well as plans for the shop front to be changed it also includes an application for the cafe to have a selection of seating outside.

Pret is a sandwich and coffee shop which shies away from using chemicals, additives and preservatives in its meals, with each one having its own kitchen on site, or very by, to make everything fresh.

This news comes weeks after Wahaca submitted plans to change the use of the former Cargo Home store in South Street from retail to restaurant.

A notice in the window of the empty store has also revealed that the Mexican street food chain intends to have four tables and 14 chairs outside the restaurant on the street.
