New Marie Curie Cancer Care group launches in Emsworth

A NEW fundraising group has been launched in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The Havant and Emsworth-based group, chaired by Julie Robinson, was joined by fundraiser Wendy Savage for the launch event at Lucy Watson and Mike Rogers’ garden.

Lucy and Mike open their garden every year through the National Garden Scheme, which benefits Marie Curie.

“Fundraising groups play a vital role in helping us to deliver more care in the local community,” said Wendy.

“It is heart-warming to know so many people want to get involved and help is to continue our work and we are very grateful to all those involved”

“Everyone in the group shares the same vision, to provide high quality care to terminally ill people, for free, in the local community,” said Julie. “Equally, the group all want to enjoy their time fundraising together, with much fun and laughter along the way.”

The group’s first fundraising event will be a collection at Superdrug, Havant, on October 19 and 20.
