The Community First bus will help residents attend the Silver Linings lunch club in Emsworth alongside a number of other projects.

Havant MP Alan Mak was on hand to see the government funded bus and meet some of the users of the service.

Community First’s chief executive, Tim Houghton, said: “The minibus will be a vital resource that helps us continue our work helping older people locally, and we’re grateful to Alan for his support.

“The lunch clubs are an important part of our community work, so the new minibuses are vital if we are to continue providing this service to some of our less mobile members.”

The Silver Linings lunch club runs from Monday to Thursday at Hewitt’s at South Street.

The club is staffed by The Right to Work Community Interest Company (CIC), which offers people with learning disabilities opportunities to gain workplace experience.

Community First was recently awarded £50,000 by the National Lottery for the project. Visit for more information.
