New parking restrictions to be introduced in Fishbourne

Drivers will now be prohibited to park or wait on Mill Lane ‘at any time on both sides of the road’.

The executive director of residents’ services stated: “This is a narrow road with a small turning head at its southern end.

“This section of road is often heavily parked and congested, causing access and servicing difficulties to properties in the road. “A traffic regulation order is proposed to prohibit parking at all times over part of the length of the road.”

The rules will apply to approximately 60 metres of the road.

At a meeting on March 22, the South Chichester County Local Committee (CLC) was presented a report on Traffic Regulations Orders which included the proposals for parking restrictions in Mill Lane.

There were four individual objections to the plans, however after consideration it was decided that ‘the benefits to the community outweigh the objections raised’.
