LADY Nicholas Gordon Lennox has been announced as the new president of St Wilfrid’s Hospice.
Lady Nicholas has acted as a key ambassador for the hospice and has supported its work for five years.
She said she was privileged to have been asked to take on the role.
“I am privileged to have been asked to take on the role of president next year and to be involved in the hospice’s 25th anniversary celebrations,” she said.
“I hope to be able to help the hospice in any way I can to grow and to flourish and to continue its invaluable work in the community.”
Lady Nicholas will replace Anne, Duchess of Norfolk who has been involved with the hospice for more than 25 years.
The duchess has been part of the development of the hospice since it opened and the board are grateful for all her hard work.
Lady Nicholas will begin her work as president at the special 25th Anniversary Celebration on May 26 where she will thank guests for their involvement in the development of the hospice.
The hospice has cared for more than 11,000 people since it opened in 1987 and relies on public support for 86 per cent of its funding.
