A good crowd of younger and older members of the Selsey community gathered to see the town’s new concrete skate park officially declared open.
Selsey Town Council clerk Gill Jennings cut the ribbon on the new park on Friday, November 27 at 3.30pm.
The opening ceremony was attended by young people from the East Beach Social Club, as well as representatives of key funders, Affinity Sutton Housing Association, Selsey Town Council and Chichester District Council, who were warmly thanked for their generosity.
Young riders took little time in celebrating by showing off their skills on the park and neighbouring BMX track.
This great addition to the town’s amenities is already very popular with local teenagers, who have been encouraged along the way by local charities Selsey Community Forum and Youth Dream.
