DAWN GRACIE Time to celebrate the passion... for chocolate

I MEET so many enterprising individuals who are passionate about their businesses, and I'm delighted to feature one that is not only totally relevant to this week in the run-up to Easter, but a businesswoman who truly adores her job and feels passionate about getting her message across.

Dawn Shrives is the owner of Chichester-based Le Salon du Chocolat. With a business slogan ‘Keeping Chocolate Real with The Real Chocolate Experience’, she strives to educate as well as tickle our tastebuds with her chocolate-moulding workshops and experiences.

I asked what drives her: “It is my passion for chocolate (well, eating it, of course) but mainly as a subject rather than an ingredient in recipes. I love its history and simply telling the story of chocolate to people.”

Dawn currently has a busy schedule of school and private groups, hen parties and public workshops. “I would like to increase my working with schools and corporate groups during the week so spread the word,” she said.

Dawn leaves me with a tantalising explanation of ‘the chocolate bliss point’. It sounds truly heavenly and if you want to find out for yourself, then treat yourself to one of her tasty workshops.
