Outrageous price increase

I AM a pensioner and admitted technophobe, however, I realised that with the demise of the analogue television signal I would have to replace my old VHS video recorder if I wished to continue recording TV programmes.

With this in mind, in the Tesco store at Chichester at the end of February, I saw that a digital recorder was priced at £99.90.

Not having funds available at the time, I decided to return before the final switchover on March 21.

On March 16, I visited Tesco, clutching my pound notes, only to find the price of the recorder was now £119.97.

I feel that this is an outrageous 20 per cent increase and profiteering on the part of Tesco.
