Ordnance discovered on Bracklesham Bay

Police were called following the discovery of an unexploded ordnance on Bracklesham Bay.

Chichester police confirmed on Twitter that officers were at the scene of the discovery at just after 5pm on Saturday (March 20).

A spokesman added: “If you find an ordnance please DO NOT take it home, call us on 999 and give the exact location using the #what3words app.”

The force said they were awaiting the Royal Navy to safely dispose of the ordnance.

On Tuesday (March 16), a bomb disposal unit was called out to Medmerry Beach as an ordnance was found along the coast.

Photos were sent to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team (E.O.D) and the beach was closed to the public.
