Bognor travel firm pledges support for children’s hospice

Mitchell’s Travel chief executive George Mitchell and his wife Angelina are set to open their new headquarters – and coffee shop – in London Road once lockdown restrictions have been eased.

George said: “Charities have suffered tremendously because of the pandemic and we feel a real need to try to do our bit.

“They are a fantastic cause and one which we hope to collaborate with in a number of ways to ultimately raise their profile much, more importantly, raise money.”

“We’re exploring the ways in which we do this and have been delighted by the way in which Chestnut Tree House are embracing our efforts.”

Tracey Shaw, community fundraiser for Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice, welcomed the endeavours from Mitchell’s Travel and is looking forward to working with them for a common cause.

She said: “When the coronavirus crisis struck, our monthly fundraising income plummeted by 70 per cent due to events being cancelled and the closure of our shops.

“We are constantly trying to find new and innovative ways to boost our funding and at the same time to reflect and thank those who are already supporting us so magnificently.

“We are very much looking forward to working with Mitchell’s Travel on a number of initiatives and hope to be able to see these materialise sooner rather than later.”
