Rachael Osborne, day manager, confirmed a click and collect system was now in place through the Cards for Good Causes website. Select Chichester and you will be given a collection slot to pick up your chosen cards from the Council House in North Street.

Cards for Good Causes opened their Chichester shop in the Council House in mid-October and were doing nicely, Rachael said.

“We were open for about two weeks and on the last day we were open, they delivered a whole lot more stock. We need to shift it, and the only way we can do that at the moment is through click and collect.

“You go to the website and you choose Chichester and you can collect on Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning. They have got a man there holding the fort!”

These are extraordinary times. Rachael has been involved with the card sales for around 30 years: “And we have something like 48 different charities all under one roof. It gives people a chance to look at their favourite charities and see if we have got something that they like. But it is also quite a social thing as well. But basically the idea is that we are a big umbrella looking after lots of charities. And it is a good way of getting people involved with thinking about all the different ones.

“We have got quite a few local charities that are close to us, but all the big charities go into every single shop in the country, and we have one of the most successful shops. We always come up in the top five in the country.”

Ironically, on the day it was forced to shut, it took delivery of 35 boxes: “There is quite a lot of money tied up in those boxes and if we can’t sell them, it means that the charities will miss out.

“So simply click http://www.cardsforcharity.org.uk , place your order and then collect from the Council House. North Street, Chichester. Hopefully, all being well, the shop will reopen as soon as possible.”

Or you can order by phone on 01264 362333.
